About This Boat

ORIENT EXPRESS was designed to circumnavigate the world short handed. The build was personally supervised by the architect (Christophe Barreau) and the owner to be the strongest Catana ever built. The first owner had owned several Catanas prior and brought his experience to bear on the specification of this one.  

She has sailed all over the world and has been constantly updated and significantly upgraded recently. A stunning vessel and the only Catana 582 currently available in the world. This represents a great opportunity for a dedicated, voyaging sailor.

The current (second) owner has spent over $200K in upgrades over the last two years including: 

• Brand new North Sails: 3di mainsail, genoa and self-tacking staysail, 2023. 
• All new suite of Garmin navigation electronics and plotters at chart table and helms, 2022.
• Servicing of the 180 HP Yanmar-BMW engines (1,050 hours) fitted with new heat exchangers, new turbos, new alternators, bench tested and reinstalled, 2022.  
• New all weather cockpit enclosure, 2022

New bottom paint, new cutlass bearings, Prop-speed on Max-props, fall 2022. 

US duty paid. Two owners, never chartered.
